Ask Zia: Asking Your Business Data Questions in Plain Language
Many managers do not want to wait for a report, they want to ask. Ask Zia is built for that, provided the data is in order.
What it does
Ask Zia turns a plain-language question into a query and chart in Zoho Analytics, for example "sales by region this month versus last month". Language support and capability depend on the version, so test with real questions from your team, including in the language they use every day.
Why the answer is sometimes wrong
The tool does not read minds. It reads column names and data. If a column is called "Field12" or a sales status is written five different ways, the answer will be muddled too.
How to make it reliable
- Give columns clear, consistent names.
- Agree on definitions: what counts as "sales", "active lead", "new customer".
- Limit the data to sources you actually trust.
- Save frequently asked questions as fixed reports.
What it suits
Quick questions in meetings, early exploration and non-technical users. For reports directors read every month, still build tested fixed dashboards. See sales dashboards in Zoho Analytics.
Anchor on one number
Before trusting the result, match one figure against a source you know is right. If it matches, raise your trust slowly.
